Material Control/Logistics Manager Job at AST SpaceMobile
AST SpaceMobile and our global partners are building the first and only space-based cellular broadband network to be accessible by standard smartphones. Called SpaceMobile, this ultra-powerful network is being designed to provide connectivity at 4G/5G speeds everywhere on the planet – on land, at sea and in flight.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate with manufacturing, procurement, and 3rd party logistics providers on receiving, warehousing, kitting, and presentation of spacecraft materials at the point of use
Lead a team of material control associates and delegate tasks accordingly across multiple shifts
Directs the daily workflow and schedules of the department, coordinating staff involved in logistics/trade compliance, receiving, and material control
Develop system and process requirements and ensure the successful implementation enterprise ERP system for receiving, cycle count, kitting, and inventory control
Manages the logistics network through 3rd party services to ensure compliant and cost effective material movement to and from the global supply base
Implements lean and continuous improvement methods to ensure the most cost efficient and accurate inventory control processes
Completes other related projects to improve the organization
Minimum Qualifications:
6+ years of experience in logistics and supply chain operations
3+ years managing direct reports
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field or additional 4 years of related work experience
Thorough understanding of warehousing/manufacturing/inventory control procedures and policies
Experience with MRP/ERP Systems for inventory control
Strong supervisory and leadership skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Must be a U.S Citizen or Permanent Resident
