Marketing Director, New Center Openings
Job Description Overview:
TOCA Soccer & Sports Centers are growing rapidly; in the next 18 months, TOCA will more than double in size. To that end, TOCA is looking for a Marketing Director to manage the brand transition & marketing integration of new centers. The Marketing Director reports to the Head of Marketing but works closely with all members of the marketing team, the new center opening team, the strategy team, and other cross-functional teams as needed. This role will build a new customer database to ensure efficient center growth, manage all aspects of customer engagement, press announcement, transition the marketing efforts and branding of new centers, and integrate new centers into TOCA’s marketing systems & processes. The role will also manage the integration of additional marketing functions as appropriate. Our ideal candidate has experience driving all functions of marketing, and growing businesses, and is a flexible, extremely organized, team player.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop competitive set including local pricing norms to solidify TOCA’s place and opportunity at each new location. This will drive marketing and sales decisions
- Built a new customer database via targeted acquisition methods
- Glean understanding of existing business and quickly articulate strengths and opportunities. Build case study for instances where learnings should be applied across the rest of the TOCA business
- Partner across the marketing team to develop supporting marketing assets (announcement, transitional marketing materials, social, signage, collateral)
- Manage brand transition for new centers. This includes working with marketing team members to develop extended email and social campaigns as well as transitioning center branding at appropriate time intervals. This position will also liaise with design & construction as well as partner with the events division on a customer appreciation event
- Manage the marketing integration of new centers. This includes integrating into our systems & processes for video & collateral, email, social, web, partnerships, sales training, & grassroots marketing
- Develop customer insights (including marketing surveys) to understand the current customer's needs & motivations
- Manage the pre-marketing launch for newly added TOCA products (Ex: TOCA Training/TOCA Kids Classes) including the expansion of the current customer database in anticipation of new product launches
- Continuously iterate to improve, scale, and standardize the process with each new center opening
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Experience across all marketing functions (CRM, digital, social, pr, events, promotions…)
- Incredible organizational skills and detail-oriented
- Critical thinker with strong problem-solving and research proficiencies
- Experience in a start-up environment and/or rapidly growing business
- Enjoys taking on new challenges and learning quickly on their feet
- Ability to work under pressure and meet quick deadlines
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects at the same time
- A creative mind with superb written and verbal communication skills
- Passion for soccer, sports, and athletes
- Positive attitude, relationship builder, and a team player
- Willingness and ability to pivot as business needs change
- Proficient in Google Suite, Clickup (or other project management tools), HubSpot, & Canva
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing/Communications preferred, or related working experience
- 7+ years experience working as a marketing generalist or marketing project/product manager
- Location-based experience is valued
