Under the supervision of the Sales and Hospitality Manager and the Inventory and Operations Manager, the Retail Associate is responsible for providing excellent customer service and building a stellar reputation for The Boston Garden (“TBG”). Customer experience is extremely important to us. You love a fast paced environment that is busy and positive, you have high energy, love talking to people, and building relationships that engender customer loyalty that keeps customers coming back for more. You are a team player that loves to contribute to helping achieve a big picture goal for the organization you support and are interested in opportunities to grow and advance over time based on a track record of success. The Retail Associate will perform the following duties, among others:

  • Greeting customers with a smile.
  • High level of general cannabis knowledge and appetite to learn more.
  • Maintaining a deep understanding of specific knowledge about the brands and products we carry.
  • Educating customers when appropriate about different products and their uses.
  • Ability to multitask and be proficient with time management.
  • Understanding of how to upsell and cross sell products.
  • Maintain a professional appearance.
  • Excellent cash handling and math skills.
  • Friendly, outgoing personality, always looking to connect with people.
  • Extremely dependable, reliable, and punctual.
  • Flexibility with scheduling.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Available to perform many different shifts and job functions throughout the day.
  • Ability to comply with all regulations and standards of the business.
  • Ability to follow complex instructions and take direction from management.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must successfully complete a comprehensive background record check.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • 1+ years’ experience in retail.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to respectfully and politely interact with customers and team members.
  • Proficient in the use of personal computers and tablets to perform daily work.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs. to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance.
  • Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks.
  • Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as; reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions.
  • Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise).
