Mammography Technologist

Our patient-oriented imaging center promotes a positive experience. We are conveniently located throughout Long Island: in Lake Success and Port Jefferson Station, with affiliated locations in Riverhead, Setauket, and Southampton.

Under the supervision of the Director of Women's Health and Chief of Breast Imaging, performs radiographic diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries. Performs technological functions to ensure optimal diagnostic quality of patient care utilizing efficient and safe processes.

In this role, you will:

• Perform routine and diagnostic mammography procedures.
• Assist with stereotactic biopsies.
• Track inventory and order supplies.
• Exhibit a high degree of tact, courtesy, and poise, explains procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
• Determine exposure factors based on height, weight, portion of body involved, and degree of penetration required.
• Move imaging equipment into specified position.
• Adjust equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy.
• Process images and reviews for proper identification and quality control.
• Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff.
• Complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed.
• Orient and train new hires.
• Perform other related duties as necessary.

We require:

• Minimum of one year continuous experience as a Mammography.
• Licensed from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Excellent assessment, communication and organizational skills.
• Good computer knowledge.
• Availability to work daytime weekday hours.
• Bilingual, English/Spanish a plus.

Salary up to $55 per hour.
