POSITION SUMMARY:

Directs the activities of maintenance personnel and outside contractors for the repair and maintenance of production machines, physical facilities and grounds. Performs supervisory duties such as hiring, performance assessment, counseling, planning, and training. Reasonable accommodations may be made to ensure individuals with disabilities perform the essential functions.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Supervises directs, and schedules work for maintenance personnel. Approves time. Does reviews and

any disciplinary write-ups/counseling.

· Supervises and directs work of outside contractors.

· Obtains quotes for repair projects for equipment, machinery, buildings, and grounds.

· Purchases replacement parts for machines.

· Purchases maintenance supplies and facility operating supplies.

· Drafts layouts for machine or department relocations.

· Schedules preventative maintenance on machines.

· Ensures equipment and machinery operate in compliance with TS/QS/ISO standards.

· Compiles and prepares reports for the fire system, gas and sewer usage, and maintenance expenditures.

· Contracts snow plowing, grass cutting and lift truck preventative maintenance.

· Estimates cost of materials and labor for equipment repair/rebuilds/replacements, and/or construction projects.

· Performs other duties as assigned. Must be able to be a hands-on, working maintenance supervisor.

· Maintain and follow all TS-16949 and ISO 14001 procedures that are applicable to this position.

· Ensure that all work activities are performed in accordance with established environmental, health, safety, quality and compliance standards.

· Ensure continual improvement in all areas of operation through employee development and involvement.

· Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and county environmental laws, regulations and standards

· PC Literate; lift up to 35#; standing, walking, sitting, bending, carrying, as necessary.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES:
· Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) from an accredited university or college with major in plant or facility engineering or maintenance.

· Five – Seven years of experience in maintenance/repair capacity in a manufacturing environment (including electrical); or, an equivalent combination of experience and education.

· Three to five years of experience of supervisory experience.

· Certification is required in machine/facility maintenance and repair, including machining, electrical

motor controls, plumbing, HVAC, and welding.

· Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and machinery specific to the automotive fastener/stamping industry.

· Above average proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting blueprints, drawings, machine and equipment specifications, and schematics.

· Above average skill proficiency with mathematics.

· Hands-on operations experience with mobile equipment and ability to obtain certification.

· Must have excellent leadership and communication skills.

· PC literacy in MS Word, MS Office and MS Excel.

SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING:
· Complete Environmental Health and Safety Policies and Procedures training of self and staff, administration of all programs, audits and corrective action plans in area.

· TS-16949 Quality Systems Administration and ISO 14001 Environmental Management Standards.

· Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System.

· Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external customers, suppliers, outside contractors, and other sister locations.

· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

• Mobile Equipment Operators: retain up-to-date certifications, follow all regulations and ensure equipment meets safety requirements
• Maintenance Employees; obtain applicable permits before working, including in confined spaces,

utilize fall protection and utilize lock out/tag out devices
