Position Purpose:


The Maintenance Repair & Operations Supervisor (MRO) will act as a liaison between Procurement, Operations and Planning, and the Supplier base to communicate long-term inventory requirements and work with all groups to implement optimal strategies. Additionally, this role has responsibility for directly leading and managing on-site personnel, coordinating as needed with additional Production sites to optimize warehouse inventories. This will include but is not limited to: stock counts, physical staging and stock movements, as well as MRP settings and inventory replenishment for assigned plant


Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:


Supplier Management


  • Responsible for identifying and maintaining maintenance and facilities suppliers that can effectively meet the production’s needs in a timely and cost-efficient manner.

  • Develop working relationships with suppliers and production management to optimize the company’s competitive position and flow of necessary materials and supplies to meet production needs.

  • Identify optimal cost-savings and material availability opportunities; maintain strong industry integration through the development and maintenance of solid, professional relationships with suppliers.

Internal Customer Service


  • Manages a team of 2 direct reports

  • Manage Automated Parts signout process

  • Completes physical inventory counts (according to ABC Cycle and ad-hoc as needed)

  • Troubleshoots and solves business process challenges that cause errors related to on-hand inventory, material movement, and invoice quantity errors

  • Facilitates movements of obsolete and slow moving inventory

  • Ensures compliance with all aspects of safety related to the stockroom contents and practices (housekeeping and layout improvement)

  • Develops standard operating procedures and work aid instructions for operational excellence

  • Ensure purchasing needs for production machinery parts and service are met in a timely and responsive manner through effective communication and follow up.

  • Anticipate, forecast and consistently monitor equipment spare parts inventory levels based on production.

  • Assist in developing annual budget requirements with the Facilities Manager.

  • Performs other duties as assigned


Scheduling


  • Schedule daily cycle counts and analyze data collected to ensure the proper inventory is on hand

Qualifications & Requirements:


Experience:


  • 6-8 years of Purchasing experience; manufacturing environment preferred


Skills & Knowledge:


  • Knowledge of Preventative Maintenance Systems

  • Integrated industry knowledge and history of strong supplier relationships required

  • Ability to effectively delegate, prioritize and manage processes in an entrepreneurial work environment

  • Supervisory experience is highly preferred

  • Knowledge of process improvement and future fulfillment strategies is preferred

  • Strategic planning, forecasting and inventory management skills

  • Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and internal client service orientation

  • Analytical Thinking
  • Inventory Management



Education:


  • BS degree required
