How you will contribute

Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Maintenance Technician position in the Los Angeles, California Coating Division. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will maintain and repair all Coating equipment within the Global Coating Division. Additionally, you will…

• Performance of operations and the use of tools and equipment of several trades such as, but not limited to: electrical, plumbing, dismantle machines, replace defective parts, and make necessary adjustments to insure efficient operation, instrumentation ( ph, orp, conductivity controls) and preventative maintenance.
• Responsible for planning and layout of work relating to repair of the building and all equipment.
• Installing and aligning new equipment
• Responsible for moving hazardous waste drums from still room to the hazardous waste storage area.
• Knowledge of the proper disposal of waste oil and soiled rags
• License Requirements
• Accumulation of Wastes
• Pretreatment System Operation & Maintenance
• Industrial Waste Neutralizing System
• Haz-Waste Accumulation Containers/Waste Minimization
• Adjust necessary equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation
• Plan and manage the repair and maintenance of all equipment and buildings
• Emergency Response
• Hazardous Communication / Right to Know
• General Housekeeping
• Other duties as assigned

What it takes

Required Qualifications

• Two years of previous experience in an Industrial Maintenance Lead position
• A working knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
• The ability to demonstrate mechanical/basic electrical knowledge through testing
• The ability to climb and work from ladders, manlifts, bridge cranes, and roofs in excess of 30 ft.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results

Highly qualified candidates will also possess:

• Six years of previous experience in an Industrial Maintenance position
• Two years of previous experience operating hand and/or power tools
• The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner
• The ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions
• Must have a high awareness for safety at all times

Work is typically performed in indoor and outdoor settings. You are required to stand and walk for extended periods. You must occasionally be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds. Mandatory overtime. Minimum hourly wage $25-$35 DOE
