Maintenance/Facilities Manager
Schedule:
1st shift
Salary:
$100,000- $120,000 Based on experience
Position Summary:
This professional will be responsible for leading the maintenance personnel in maintaining a clean, safe, and productive facility. This position is also responsible for the production equipment required to maintain quality parts in a serial production environment. Furthermore, they are responsible for facilitating repairs of the building, offices, and landscapes. In addition, set all maintenance priorities as well as determines the needs of the department from a procurement and staffing perspective.
Scope/Supervision and Interaction:
Supervises Maintenance Department, temporary and contract employees
Essential Functions:
  • Develop and implement preventative, and predictive maintenance procedures to minimize unplanned equipment downtime
  • Respond to and implement corrective action for the repair of facility equipment.
  • Identify, support, enforce, and apply safe work practices; ensure that employees adhere to federal, state, and local codes and regulations
  • Coach, lead, develop and manage employees; plan, monitor, and appraise job results; identify training needs and develop objectives for employee development
  • Select subcontractors and direct outsourced support activities as needed to maintain facility and implement projects
  • Maintain required environmental policies and procedures and support pollution prevention initiatives
  • Maintain facilities equipment and grounds in a safe, productive, and clean condition; Interact effectively with customers, employees, support personnel, and outside support resources to meet objectives
  • Identify and provide tools and/or remove obstacles to meet targets
  • Identify customers’ needs and develop and implement plans to meet those needs
  • Lead development and implementation of TPM system
  • Assist with maintenance and repair of building or facilities equipment as needed
  • Function as Emergency Response Coordinator
  • Support manufacturing-directed maintenance team activities (Kaizens, QWG’s, etc.)
  • Perform all other incidental and related duties as required and assigned
  • Structure problem solving focusing on permanent corrective action
  • Tracking all department expenses
  • Formal reporting on projects and daily progress
  • Determining the required need for project level work and assigning the appropriate schedules
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
  • Have or working towards a four-year college degree in a management or technical field
  • Successful supervisory or leadership experience in an industrial environment
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment is essential
  • 3+ years of relevant experience (in a manufacturing or similar environment) preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong computer skills, equipment, and project management knowledge
  • Basic comprehension of electrical/electronic and mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local building-related codes, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Knowledge of relevant equipment; ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Ability to view situations analytically and apply effective troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrated team leadership skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives
  • Strong project management, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate through positive example
  • Ability to work with employees to accomplish their goals and the goals of the organization
  • Provide support and encouragement
  • Recognize and reward employee contribution to the organization
  • Follow up on employee issues in an effective and timely manner
  • Be open to change and facilitate change
Job related demands (i.e., physical, travel):
  • Occasional travel for meetings or training (4-5 times per year)
  • Flexibility to alter work schedule for timely completion of projects
  • Prioritization of multiple projects to meet operational goals
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential issues with tact and diplomacy
  • Maintenance of professional knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and/or participating in professional associations
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 35 lbs. without assistance and occasionally up to 50 lbs. following company safe lifting protocol
  • Ability to stand and/or sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to work in an environment with powdered metal, dust, noise, oils, and chemicals
