  • Ensures effective operation of areas of responsibility for allshifts with established policies and procedures to meet assigned goals, such asutilization and internal failure.
  • Directs, coordinates, plans and assists scheduling of work for allshifts. Is knowledgeable of our planning tools, including Factory Planner orequivalent.
  • Ensures accurate reporting of employee time and attendance andappropriate accounts are charged by payroll.
  • Maintains effective and timely communication between shifts toinsure continuity and cooperation.
  • Maintains necessary records for performance of hourly employees toinsure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Administers necessary discipline for adherence to shop floorreporting procedure.
  • Maintains high degree of cooperation with other supervisorypersonnel.
  • Implements new ideas concerning methods, procedures and changes intechnologies. Is actively involved in the overall Lean initiative. Supports theKaizen process by participating personally or supporting others that areinvolved.
  • Promotes and supports good housekeeping, safety, productivity andquality. Promotes "6S" by monitoring the overall cleanliness andorganization in responsible areas/depts.
  • Ensures environmental/safety issues arising from area ofresponsibility, or from own activities, are managed according to legalrequirements, company policy and procedures, and good work practices. Consults supervisor/manager with questions relating to environmental/safetyresponsibilities.
  • Adopts a personal commitment to excellence and actively supportsand participates in the Total Quality process. Be a "rolemodel" worthy of imitation.
  • Promotes progress through positive change, continuous improvementand actively contributes to the teamwork concept.

What You Bring

  • SCHEDULING DUTIES, asassigned.
    • Plans and schedulesdepartmental machines to assure prompt delivery of component parts to stock forassembly/service, as required. This function is determined by assignedarea of responsibility. Has a good understanding of the Factory Planning systemand the reports that are generated to schedule the shop floor.
  • SUPERVISORYRESPONSIBILITIES
    • Directly supervises +/-20 hourly employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities inaccordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees;planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding anddisciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • QUALIFICATIONS Toperform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representativeof the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • EDUCATION and/orEXPERIENCE
    • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in an engineering discipline and 2 5 years heavy manufacturingexperience; or a minimum of 10 years heavy manufacturing experience; orequivalent combination of education and experience.
  • OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
    • Ability to provideleadership to and review work of assigned staff; effective communicationskills; general knowledge of manufacturing function and production system;ability to be flexible to coordinate shift coverage. Possess skills necessaryto troubleshoot programming and process issues on the shop floor.
