At Miles Partnership, we are passionate about travel and use the most effective, results-driven solutions to tell the stories of our destination clients and share experiences that inspire visitors. It’s an exciting time for us, as we continue to grow and add to our team. As such, we are currently seeking a Line Producer who demonstrates the following skills and brings the following experience:
- Working within Budgets - Since a large part of a line producer’s job is dealing with best practice production finances, a good level of cost forecasting & management is key. Knowing the market rates plays a major role here.
- Knowledge of the video process. A line producer can’t successfully allocate a project’s funds, let alone adjust budgeting as unexpected changes inevitably affect shooting, if they don’t have experience on sets and the postproduction process and current knowledge of the wider industry and best practices.
- Knowledge of rules and laws. Among a line producer’s many duties is ensuring health and safety, which requires an understanding of everything from local guidelines to union regulations.
- Innovative problem solving. Producing can be a fast-paced, high-pressure job, requiring both a focus on the big picture and a willingness to be flexible with individual details. There’s a lot of room for error in the filmmaking process, so a line producer has to be ready to anticipate surprises, mistakes, and other problems.
- Communication skills. Producers must be in constant, effective communication with top-level producers, directors, pre- and postproduction departments, and vendors and suppliers.
- Networking and relationship building. All producers are diplomats. Their ability to reach out to and connect with various professionals means that negotiating skills are essential. An ability to facilitate both artistic and practical compromises is always crucial in this role.
