Do you love being poolside? Making sure people are having fun and being safe in the water? SJCC is hiring part-time Lifeguards for our indoor, year-round pool!

Schedule: Flexible Schedule. Open Sunday through Saturday.

Pay: Starting at $15.00 per hour (+ free gym/pool membership to the J!)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Caution participants regarding safe vs. unsafe behaviors; enforce all safety protocols.
• Rescue participants in danger of drowning; administer first-aid/CPR if required.
• Complete accident reports thoroughly if accidents occur and follow protocol outlined in Staff Manual.
• Organize use of pool based upon the pool schedule and to meet the needs of the members and swim lessons.
• Inspect facilities for cleanliness; monitor and record pool and hot tub readings (every three hours); immediately report unusual readings to the Aquatics Director.
• Perform regular pool maintenance as assigned by the Aquatics Director.
• Open and close the pool, depending on shift time, following protocol outlined in the Staff Manual.
• Substitute for coworkers as needed.
• Perform work on weekends and evenings as needed to meet scheduling needs.
• Follow all emergency procedures at the SJCC.
• Attend required staff trainings and meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Current Lifeguard, CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid Certification (training provided by SJCC!)
• 15 years of age or older
• Satisfactorily pass criminal background check
• Provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination/booster
