Lead Bartender - The Allegheny Grille or Taps & Taco (PGH) Job at Highlands Ventures

Summary: We are looking for a candidate that is positive, self-motivated, detailed oriented, and can lead a quality staff. This is a unique opportunity to join our team at North Shore Food & Beverage, Inc. The Lead Bartender is responsible for the oversite of the bartenders in their assigned location to ensure the success of our employees and our guests' satisfaction. Ideally, this candidate is courteous, professional, and displays a customer service mindset while serving food and beverages to patrons.


In addition to the daily responsibilities of a bartender, the lead bartender is responsible for the following:

  • Maintaining updating cocktail and liquor menus in conjunction with F&B Management
  • Maintains inventory control, price setting, and receiving of all liquor and related supplies in conjunction with F&B Management
  • Assure that the opening/closing checklist is completed and that the assigned restaurant is prepared for opening/closing
  • Maintaining the bar equipment par
  • Cocktail development for seasonal and trend changes
  • Monitors the provision of positive customer service by assigned staff
  • Collection of money generated as revenue and the proper deposit made at the end of each shift
  • Proper recordkeeping on guest checks at the point of sale.
  • Responsible for bar set-up at the beginning of each shift, closing the bar and restocking used items
  • Responsible for cleanliness of the bar and reporting all maintenance needs to the manager
  • Monitor and adhere to the rules and regulations established by the PLCB and RAMP; includes monitoring of guest consumption and knowledge of procedures for handling intoxicated guests
  • Thorough knowledge of and correct application of all company policies, procedures, and practices
  • Responsible for maintaining company standards of excellence relating to attitude, customer service, employee relations, and job performance
  • Responsible for guest relations including guest's name and product preferences
  • Attendance and involvement at all scheduled meetings and training sessions
  • Performs other related duties as assigned


Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Training and coaching other bartenders
  • Work with Front-of-House Manager to schedule FOH employees
  • Observe and enforce all legal guidelines and procedures as outlined in the company handbook and the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB)
  • Assists FOH Manager in supervising assigned staff
  • Resolves routine problems encountered in the performance of work assignments

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess working knowledge of wines, beers, and liquors
  • Obtain certification for the accredited alcohol server test (RAMP) on the first day of hire
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Thorough knowledge and experience with POS
  • Minimum of 2 years bartending experience
  • Cash handling experience with the ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers
  • Professional presentation
  • Refined communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills conducive to guest/customer service environment
