Title of Position: Plastic Testing Laboratory Manager

Department: Laboratory

Basic Purpose:The Plastic Testing Laboratory Manager has overall responsibility for the technical operations of the Laboratory.

Recommended Qualifications:

1.) Education: Minimum High School Diploma/GED Equivalent, Prefer B.S., but not required if has previous Lab experience (see below)

2.) Experience: 5+ years in Quality and/or Laboratory testing and/or management experience

3.) Special skills/Certifications: Mechanical abilities for trouble shooting

Job Duties:

1.) Daily management of the RheTech Laboratory.

2.) Authorship, updating and maintenance of the Laboratory Quality Manual.

3.) Manage and maintain all Laboratory equipment at both Whitmore Lake & Fowlerville (Repair & Calibration).

4.) Manage and coordinate all aspects of the Whitmore Lake Laboratory ISO 17025 accreditation process.

5.) Manage and coordinate all aspects of the Whitmore Lake & Fowlerville Laboratories Proficiency Testing Program.

6.) Gauge R & R studies, as necessary.

7.) Ordering supplies and equipment for the Laboratory, as required and pre-approved.

8.) Hiring of new Laboratory personnel, as necessary.

9.) Annual performance review of Laboratory employees.

10.) Laboratory future plans, budgets and goals, as required.

11.) Conduct Laboratory tours for visitors as necessary.

12.) Handle and coordinate any Laboratory special projects or assignments as required.

13.) Safety/Environmental/Quality Duties Include:

a) Forward any new material SDS’s, along with the completed SDS Classification Form to the Corp. Safety Officer for review before it is brought into RheTech for use.

b) Responsible for working with the Quality Dept. to notify of any contractors that are going to be hired about RheTech’s Health & Safety Contractor Agreement and the Environmental Contractor Agreement. This includes working to make sure all items are completed and returned prior to starting of their work/service.

c) Investigate and complete any assigned Laboratory corrective actions.

d) Monitor Lab area for proper labeling of all of the following containers/boxes/bins: finished/raw materials, trash, scrap, process water and used oil. Correct issues, as necessary.

14.) Maintain a safe working environment.

15.) Perform other duties as assigned.

16.) Compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable local, state and federal regulations.
