As a rapidly growing organization, we are looking to bring on an IT Help Desk Specialist to support the organization’s technology needs. This individual will assist in the onboarding and offboarding of employees with respect to both system access as well as device setup. They will also be asked to diagnose and resolves basic issues with workstation hardware and software, network connectivity, and business information systems using defined procedures and common logic. The Technician will interface directly with employees to help resolve any technology issues that arise. The Technician will also work directly with Senior Leaders of the company to develop and execute a device policy while also ensuring security compliance is met.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Performs installation and maintenance of common workstation software.
- Performs administration of accounts in various business information systems.
- Records service requests and work performed in the approved tracking system.
- Serve as project manager on organization-wide technology programs, such as company device program/policy and transition from OneDrive to Sharepoint
- Follows up with requesters to ensure effective resolution and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinates escalation of complex and critical issues using defined procedures.
- Assists in the acquisition of various hardware and software.
- Assists with first-level support of printers, iPads, Laptops and Desktops.
- Track all active and decommissioned electronic devices.
- Ensure all devices are secured and HIPAA compliant.
- Other Duties and Special Projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate's Degree or relevant computer professional certification (preferred).
- Ability to communicate fluently and effectively in both written and spoken English.
- Experience with workstation support tools, common workstation applications, workstation hardware, Windows operating system, and network connectivity. Preference given to those with experience comparable experience in a healthcare setting.
- Ability to demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects with success.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently from remote location(s) and capable to meet travel requirements.
- Highly self-motivated and self-directed with great attention to detail.
- Capable of learning or previous experience (preferred) in the following
- o Diagnose, resolve, install and maintain common workstation hardware, workstation software, network connectivity, and business information systems issues.
- o Assist users with basic how-to questions relevant to workstation hardware, workstation software, network connectivity, and business information systems.
- Perform common business information systems account administration.
- Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel as needed.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to impart ideas in both technical and user-friendly language with a high level of confidence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products.
This is a part-time opportunity offering 15-25 hours per week.
The ideal candidate is local and able to work out of a corporate location in the Raleigh-Durham area. There is flexibility for a hybrid work week for a local team member.
