SUMMARY
Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload material, and transport from work center to work center and from storage areas. Document inventory requisitions utilizing ERP system. Aid in packaging shipments. Participate in inventory counts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Locate priority materials requested by assembly department and route them to correct locations via forklift
- Obtain copy of job packet and move material or equipment to and from designated areas in the facility
- Requisition and store materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock
- Conducts daily transactions of parts issued and returned
- Moving goods packed on pallets or in crates around the facility
- Stacking materials in the correct locations
- Periodically performs inventory counts
- Maintains order of warehouse shelves
- Assists Shipper in packaging parts and equipment for shipments
SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED/PREFERRED
- Good math, language and reading skills; basic computer skills may be required
- High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment
- Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records
- Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner
- Maintain a clean & safe environment
EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED/PREFERRED
- Forklift certification per OSHA standards (obtainable through in-house training)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Regularly sitting on a powered industrial truck
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and sit for long periods of time
- Having good eye-hand-foot coordination
- Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season
