Job Description
The person in this role will assist in the development and execution of the internal communications plan for a key lane of business at FIRST. This lane includes 400+ of our global employee base who are dedicated to a well-known technology brand client. You will help develop and implement internal communications strategies to further employee engagement, build out the company's brand and culture, and share company direction and performance.
You will partner closely with the global business lane leaders to help drive our communication efforts to the embedded employees, working in a fast-paced environment at an exciting time of rapid growth. This position will include implementing our executive communications strategy and framework with alignment to overall business objectives. It will be critical for the person in this role to build and foster relationships across business functions and across geographic locations, to develop creative, innovative communications to help drive company goals, organizational messages and ensure that employees are kept informed, motivated, and engaged. This person will report to the VP of Internal Communications.
Role & Responsibilities
- Partner with the VP of Internal Communications, People & Culture teams, and business lane leads to develop clear communications around team member experience (employee lifecycle).
- Shape, streamline and deliver internal communications for embedded lane employee base to:
- Drive company goals and principles
- Enhance employee engagement
- Improve collaboration cross-departmentally, cross-lane, and amongst teams
- Boost business results
- Increase transparency and belonging
- Assist with communications plans and campaigns around company messaging, to ensure the vision, strategy, KPIs and transformation activities are effectively understood.
- Organize channels of communication and set standards for lane-wide communications to ensure their value and impact.
- Build partnerships with key internal stakeholders.
- Partner to drive and execute internal events, employee initiatives, and strategic employee meetings.
- Assist in change management plans to support internal clients, including People & Culture, Finance, Information Technology and others, in launching new systems, processes, and technologies to employees.
- Keeps up to date of relevant industry, company and business unit developments while maintaining a finger on pulse of employees to keep the organization informed and create effective messaging.
- Serve as a trusted advisor, sharing expertise, innovative solutions and best practices.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field.
- 4-5 years of internal communications, external communications, community affairs or related experience.
- Experience contributing to global communications strategy with cross cultural considerations and ability to build strong team relationships.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with hands on experience and excellence in writing, editing and proofreading.
- Has a passion for telling stories; someone who is innately curious, self-driven, with highly effective interpersonal skills with the ability to be strategic, creative and collaborative.
- Technical Savvy: ability to navigate new technologies and have knowledge of the latest innovative communication technology to deliver an effective communication experience.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to juggle many competing priorities simultaneously while maintaining focus on execution and results.
- Comprehensive knowledge of internal communications concepts, and practices.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver organizational messages using various communication modes for transparency and clarity of messages with teams in a consistent and timely manner.
United States Residents: The base pay for this position ranges from $70,000 to $100,000. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
