INTERCONNECTED MINDS DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY, UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA Job at University of Pennsylvania

University of Pennsylvania Philadelphia, PA 19104

Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Open Date: Oct 26, 2022

Deadline:
The School of Arts & Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania intends to make multiple appointments across departments over the next few years as part of a thematic cluster focused on "The Interconnected Mind". This cluster search recognizes that a core challenge across several disciplines is mapping the relationship between individual minds and group behavior, addressing how aspects of the behavior of groups can be traced back to cognitive and neural processes acting within individuals and how the behavior of individuals is shaped by phenomena at the social level. The Department of Psychology is interested in candidates with research interests connected to this theme, including those working in social, cultural or evolutionary psychology, judgment and decision making, developmental psychology, animal behavior, or social neuroscience (in humans or animal models). We have a particular interest in candidates whose research programs would also connect to two strategic directions identified by our department: first, new approaches to data collection and computation, and second, ecologically valid studies of cognition. Our primary focus is at the junior, Assistant Professor level, but in exceptional circumstances, a more senior hire may be considered. The successful candidates will contribute to the department's teaching and training missions at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Interested candidates should submit materials online at http://apply.interfolio.com/116346 , and include a curriculum vitae; research, teaching, and diversity statements; a short description of up to 3 publications (no more than 1 page total); and the names and contact information of three references. Recommenders will be contacted by the University with instructions on how to submit a letter to the website. Review of applications will begin December 9, 2022 and continue until the position is filled.
