Insurance Underwriter Job at Cottonwood Title Insurance Agency
Cottonwood Title is hiring an internal underwriter to assist with preparing commercial real estate files for closing. Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating with external underwriters, co-workers, clients, legal counsel, and others to prepare proforma policies showing the proposed insured, the amount of insurance, and the exceptions proposed to be in the final policy.
- Working closely with Escrow and Title coworkers to prepare transactions for closing and resolve concerns.
- Presenting requests to external underwriters, providing background information, and preparing any materials needed to approve coverage in unique circumstances.
- Proofing commercial policies to ensure they match proforma policies.
- Understanding of title searches and accompanying materials.
Requirements include:
- 4-6 years of title insurance experience and a focus on commercial deals.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to lead conference calls and other interactions with clients and their representatives.
- Customer-first mentality.
- Sharp organizational and project management skills.
- Maintaining poise under pressure.
- Juris Doctorate is a plus but not required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
