Job Description:
Apex is looking to identify an Insider Threat Consultant.
6 month contract to hire (then perm)
Must work on Apex W2 (cannot provide sponsorship)
This position is 100% Remote- East Coast hours.
For this position you would be coming in and setting up a program from scratch.
Day to Day would consist of working with HR Compliance, standing up programs, detections, creating linkages within security operations and documenting.
The key day-to-day job duties for an insider threat consultant who is implementing a program may include:
- Conducting a thorough assessment of the organization's current security practices and identifying gaps or weaknesses that could be exploited by an insider.
- Developing and implementing policies and procedures to prevent insider threats, including access controls, monitoring, and reporting.
- Providing training and guidance to other employees on how to recognize and report insider threats.
- Monitoring the organization's systems and data for suspicious activity, and conducting investigations as necessary.
- Collaborating with other members of the organization's security team to develop and implement strategies to mitigate insider threats.
- Staying up-to-date with the latest developments in cybersecurity and insider threat prevention, and making recommendations to the organization on how to improve its security posture.
- Providing regular reports and updates to senior leadership on the status of the insider threat program and any potential risks or incidents.
- Maintaining documentation of all activities related to the insider threat program, including investigations, findings, and actions taken
