- Defines, evaluates, and manages technology systems to provide effective and efficient technology services for all district programs.
- Makes appropriate recommendations to the district regarding purchase and installation of new computer hardware and software consistent with the district’s business and instructional goals.
- Provides guidance to Technical Support 1 and Technical Support 2 staff in assembly, installation, and maintenance of new computers and related technology to enhance classroom and business environments.
- Oversees configuration and maintenance of all network equipment.
- Leads the work of computer network and other data processing staff to provide maximum efficiency of the district’s computer technology systems.
- To the extent practical, keeps current with state-of-the-art developments in computer equipment and software, sharing knowledge with users.
- Maintains, stores, and retrieves information in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner using standard office systems, equipment and software.
- Performs other related services as assigned.
- Certification and/or licensing appropriate to the position.
- Knowledge or experience in current technology and network operation and design systems.
- Ability to monitor technology advances and to recommend and implement system improvements.
- Highly skilled in trouble-shooting network systems, computer hardware, and software problems.
- Ability to evaluate security of the network systems
- Ability to coach and mentor staff and students in the Technology Services Department.
- Ability to prioritize work tasks.
- Ability to use office information systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to review, assess, design, and implement service delivery systems.
- Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment in carrying out work requirements.
- Ability to understand the district’s instructional goals and carry out work assignments in a manner that supports those goals.
- Ability to travel among district facilities as needed; if driving, the ability to meet district driving standards.
- Standard First Aid Certification, or the ability to obtain certification within two months of hire, may be required.
