The brand new Jones & Cabacoy Veterans Care Center (JCVCC) is named after two Virginia heroes. Air Force Colonel William A. Jones III of Norfolk was awarded the Medal of Honor for his service in Vietnam. Army Staff Sergeant Christopher F. Cabacoy of Virginia Beach was killed in Afghanistan in 2010 when his vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb. The Jones & Cabacoy VCC honors their service to the Nation and the Commonwealth. The Jones & Cabacoy VCC was built to serve our Veterans. They served us, now it is our duty to serve them. JCVCC is nestled in an ideal location in the Princess Anne section of Virginia Beach on a 25-acre site adjacent to Nimmo Parkway (extended), West Neck Rd, and N. Landing Rd. This pristine 128-bed facility is state of the art with immaculate outside landscaping and features all private rooms that will be organized into eight 16-bed households that surround a central community center and rehabilitation gym. Each 16-bed sub unit includes a dining room, kitchenette and dayroom adjoined access to a courtyard.
You will have the full support of the entire DVS team, including the Administrators of the Virginia Veterans Care Center in Roanoke, Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care in Richmond, and the brand-new Puller Veterans Care Center in Fauquier County (the “twin” of Jones & Cabacoy VCC). The purpose of this position is to monitor and evaluate all infection control practices and procedures for the facility. Manage Antibiotic Stewardship program, ensuring compliance by staff and providers. Infection Control Director will also be responsible for planning and implementing the Infection Control program in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern such requirements in the facility.
The purpose of this position is to monitor and evaluate all infection control practices and procedures for the facility. Minimum Qualifications
3-5 years of healthcare supervisory experience. Current State of Virginia RN license. Experience in Geriatrics. Current CDC Nursing Home Infection Preventionist Training certification. Familiar with CMS infection control guidelines. Familiar with OSHA laws and regulations. CPR certification required upon hire or willing to obtain.
