Industrial Fitness Partner Job at C&S Wholesale Grocers

As an Industrial Fitness Parnter you will aim to educate, motivate, and empower all employees for optimal performance, productivity, and wellness. You will be responsible for the overall implementation, management, and activities designed to promote and improve the injury reduction, health, safety and well-being of warehouse associates (industrial associates). As a part of the Environmental, Health, and Safety Team (EHS Team) you will support the development of incentive and motivation programs, assist with health activities, including lectures and workshops on a variety of health and wellness topics, and build a strong awareness of health and well-being in the warehouse(s). You will also be required to provide one-on-one basic nutrition information and exercise prescriptions, facilitate fitness assessments, including strength, movement, and cardio-respiratory. Lastly, you will be required to complete ongoing tracking of individual industrial associate provided care and progressive improvement.

Job Description

  • Continually seek opportunities to proactively educate your building(s) on the industrial associate health and wellness content. Performs safety walks and audits to ensure proactive safety, health, and wellness of the industrial associates in the building. (10%)
  • Fully supports the vision of creating a work place with Zero harm to the employees and the environment implements health and wellness programs. These may include components such as dynamic warm-ups, mobility and proper lifting assessments, fitness assessments, exercise plans, basic nutrition information and resources, equipment and exercise orientations, strength training, and cardiovascular training, wound care, and rehabilitation. (20%)
  • Provides appropriate immediate care for incidents. (10%)
  • Documenting and tracking all care provided with progress notes. (5%)
  • Partner with Training Team in training all new hires on industrial associate best practices for proper lifting and general health and wellness. Trains trainers, supervisors, and other leadership members on how to successfully coach and teach industrial associates how to properly lift, and basic health and wellness suggestions. (20%)
  • Part of the local and regional EHS Team and supports EHS where needed. (10%)
  • Partners with local Training department to ensure all new hires are following proper lifting, health, and wellness protocols. (20%)
  • Working with local operational leaders to ensure continued improvement at your building(s). Ensure that the departments achieve and continuously improve health and safety performance. (5%)

Environment:

  • Warehouse : Freezer (-20F to 0F)
  • Warehouse : Perishable Warehouse (28F to 60F)
  • Warehouse : Grocery Warehouse (50F to 90F)

Skills:

  • Specialized Knowledge: First Aid, CPR, AED certified. Professional certifications in Strength and Conditioning and/or Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA, NASM, or ACSM) preferred. Experience with public speaking, group training, athletic injuries, wound care, and rehab protocols. Bilingual a plus - Spanish/English.
  • Special Skills: Computer skills, including experience with Google documents, Gmail, Microsoft Excel, Word, and statistical analysis.
  • Physical abilities: The physical requirements/expectations are:Occasionally sitting, squatting, lunging, pivoting, and performing repetitive movement

Never climbing up to 4 ft. (Must have fall protection training and using proper fall protection equipment)

  • Years of Experience: 2+ years
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Biomechanics, or similar

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 per year
