Job Title: Independent Contract Trauma Informed *Therapist
Reporting To: D.E.I. and Trauma Manager
Department: Infant and Early Childhood Education
Location: Livonia Clinic - Livonia, MI

POSITION SUMMARY:*
Provide trauma informed psychotherapy services to employees across 3 early childhood preschool organizations: Focus: Hope, Development Centers and Starfish Family Services. Services will be provided on site at an early childhood center or virtual, based on the request of the employee and available to employees experiencing a work-related trauma or loss up to five hours a week in the late afternoon/evening schedule.
Grant Period: December 1, 2022, through August 31, 2023. Grant will not bill insurance or require extensive documentation.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES REQUIRED:*

• Experience in trauma, grief and loss in adults.

• Comprehensive assessment skills, not required to diagnose.

• Direct clinical experience providing group, individual, and/or family therapy.

• Demonstrated knowledge of adult conscious and unconscious psychodynamics, stages of grief and experienced in trauma informed care.

• Knowledge of theory and practice of individual, group and family systems treatment.

• Ability to effectively, appropriately, and accurately communicate both orally and in writing.

• Competence in the delivery of crisis intervention services, and in brief and time-limited therapy.

• Ability to make critical decisions independently.

• Must be computer literate, able to use an electronic client record and HIPAA compliant telehealth platform.

• Ability and willingness to abide by all 3 organizations policies.

• Ability to work with all members of the community regardless of race, age, gender identity, orientation, and cultural or ethnic background.

• Ability to maintain professional and ethical standards.

• Ability to represent the agency in a professional manner.

• Works Independently.

REQUIREMENTS:*

• Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, OR other related human services field required.

• Current valid professional licensure/certification in the State of Michigan. (LLMSW, LMSW, LLPC, LPC, LLP, LLMFT).

• Minimum of one year of clinical experience working with adults.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all contacts, ensuring all documentation is up to date according to Starfish Family Services policy.

• Cooperate in any investigation related to personnel, licensing, accreditation or other circumstances.

• Maintain professional licensure with the State of Michigan.

• Current professional liability insurance

• Maintain professional liability insurance.

• Accept and emulate the mission of SFS.

• Adhere to all Starfish Family Services policies and procedures.

Payment Structure:*

• $100 per session and meetings, with the expectation that sessions will be an average of 45 minutes, amount includes documentation as a part of session or meeting.

LICENSING AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:*

• Must be COVID-19 vaccinated, or partially, with the ability to complete within 30-days of employment. Circumstances preventing vaccination, and corresponding accommodations will be reviewed and considered.
