SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the HR Manager in supporting the organization. This position will focus primarily on benefits administration and CTFMLA/FMLA leave.

Essential Functions:

Work involves most of the following:

  • Administers health and welfare plans
  • Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions.
  • Serves as the Cobra Administrator for company.
  • Participates in new employee orientations to ensure employees gain an understanding of benefit plans and enrollment provisions.
  • Counsels employees (and potential employees/applicants) on plan provisions so that individuals can informed benefit decisions. This includes all levels of employees including executives.
  • Assist HR Manager with annual open enrollment. Arranges for distribution of materials from carriers, assists with, communicating changes to employees and arranges for on-site representation by providers.
  • Completes reports for management as requested.
  • Resolves employee complaints related to health and welfare plans.
  • Acts as liaison with various insurance carriers and fosters effective relationships with client representatives.
  • Assist Human Resources Manager with oversight of leave administration including STD, LTD FMLA, ADA. etc.
  • Ensure employee records and files are kept in accordance with internal and external compliance.

Other Functions:

  • Acts as a backup for payroll administration and processing Human Resources Information System (HRIS) approvals while partnering with Payroll to ensure that employee data is processed as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • A minimum of two years of HR Generalist experience in business experience manipulating and reporting out data required; performing HR related data reporting preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of benefits administration
  • MS Office proficiency required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple priorities.
  • Able to think quickly, assess a situation and make a sound decision.
  • Able to use technology to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Solid written and verbal communication, listening, organization and priority setting skills.
  • Listens well and retains instructions; accepts constructive feedback from supervisor.

  • Must be highly mobile, able to access all areas of the premises;

  • Ability to give understandable written and verbal instructions;
  • Must be able to perform bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, and lifting of equipment of at least 10 pounds.
  • Must be able to travel to multiple out-of-state sites.
  • Vision abilities including close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
