About The Job:


The ideal candidate will be a creative, collaborative, results-oriented leader who is particularly adept at balancing multiple priorities and issues and being decisive. A true hands-on approach as well as the ability to successfully monitor the "pulse" of the employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement at all levels of the organization. Experience with rapid and complex changing work environments and high-volume workload is a must. This role requires someone to be dedicated to developing a strong, diverse, and collaborative organization, have a strong work ethic, a passion for managing the details within a growing business and willing to contribute where necessary including the ability to "roll up your sleeves."


Reporting to the VP of People, this position will work on a daily basis in order to assist with the day-to- day HR operations of all Naadam Inc brands. In addition, the HR Generalist must create effective working relationships with internal employees and business partners and must work well with many different levels of management and across all brands.

What You Will Do:

As The Human Resources Generalist, You Will:

  • Support the VP of People on employee relations, company initiatives, benefits, compensation, recruiting, training and day to day HR administrative needs
  • Maintain knowledge of legal and regulatory policies affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws relating to benefit plans including ERISA, HIPAA, PFL, COBRA and FMLA.
  • Execute our people initiatives, providing great internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement
  • Ownership of management Learning & Development programs including creation of facilitator guides, participant guides, Powerpoint decks, and job aids to support the learning opportunities and key gaps in leadership
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously - orientated on results
  • Ability to effectively plan, set priorities, and manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills to effectively address all levels within the organization
  • Proven ability to investigate and research information, analyze data in relation to the relevant employment laws, trends, policies and procedures and to use sound judgment to draw valid conclusions, recommendations and develop corrective actions
  • Providing advice and counsel to managers on a variety of topics to optimize employee engagement, team development, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Perform difficult staffing duties, including managing understaffed situations, conflict resolution, terminating employees and administering disciplinary procedures.
  • Provide employee relations support and ensure that company policies and procedures are followed and administered in a fair and non-discriminatory manner.
  • Support company HR initiatives, projects and programs as needed
  • Partners with business leaders in assessing their teams, setting objectives & identifying development areas as well as organization design, engagement, and culture.
  • Assesses employee engagement survey results and develops action plans
  • Ensures a focus on diversity & inclusion is delivered
  • Identifies people's priorities, risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Researching and sourcing best practices and proposing and delivering company solutions which enhance the employee experience
  • Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment processes with the Director of Recruiting including pre-screening
  • Answer all benefit questions and assist in company open enrollment
  • Help organize training & development initiatives
  • Assist with the annual employee performance review process
  • Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying new perks and benefits and organizing team building activities

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Human Resources, Retail, or Business Management)
  • 3-5 years of Human Resources experience preferred
  • Experience interpreting and applying HR policies, procedures, programs and processes
  • Must have the ability to quickly learn systems, process, and procedures
  • Must possess a positive, solution-oriented and customer-focused attitude
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Passion for innovative HR solutions and process improvement
  • A strong solution focus and be comfortable working in an environment which demands strong deliverables along with the ability to identify problems and drive appropriate resolutions
  • Excellent problem solver with a proven track record of driving results
  • Outstanding interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Products, Internet navigation, HRIS systems
  • Previous experience training management level
  • Highly organized and detail oriented with ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Generates a variety of approaches to problem solving including and new ideas
  • Comfortable with change and challenging convention.
  • Has experience working for startup companies
