An aerospace/manufacturing client is looking for a Human Resources Assistant that must be knowledgeable across the multiple phases of the Human Resource spectrum. Including but not limited to compensation, benefits, payroll, recruiting, and onboarding new employees

LOCATION: Horseheads, NY 14845
POSITION: Human Resources Assistant
CONTRACT: 4 months or longer
PAY: $35/hour
SHIFT: 1st shift, M-F, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm with an unpaid ½ hour lunch. If the candidate would like longer for lunch the shift would be 8:00 am - 5:00 pm or 7:30 am – 4:30 pm

Responsibilities:

  • Must be knowledgeable across the multiple phases of the Human Resource spectrum. Including but not limited to compensation, benefits, payroll, recruiting, and onboarding new employees.
  • Labor relations/Union experience preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge in use of personal computer – proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Coordinate employee recognition/engagement events and community involvement events
  • Order office supplies and catering for the plant
  • Responsible for timekeeping and payroll activities
  • Coordinate recruitment efforts, post requisitions, create Interview tools, etc.
  • Organization, time-management, accuracy, and urgency of meeting deadlines are critical in employee updates/recordkeeping.
  • Service Oriented – performing multifaceted projects with deadlines in conjunction with daily activities.
  • Flexibility and ability to get along with diverse personalities.
  • Diplomacy and discretion in obtaining and providing information due to the confidential nature of the function.
  • Ability to provide support and understanding to employees when informed about issues of a personal nature.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

  • Education would be a minimum of an Associates with 3-5 years’ experience, preferred would be a Bachelor’s with 3-5 years’ experience.
  • Steel toe shoes possibly required on the manufacturing floor.

At a minimum, a 7-year background check, education verification, employment verification, and drug screen will be conducted upon hire. Your suitability for employment is contingent upon successfully passing these required pre-employment screenings.
