About the Position:
The Housing Specialist is responsible for creating, implementing, teaching, updating, and monitoring all aspects of the Affirmative Fair Housing Marketing Plans and Fair Housing Regulations for all CCI properties. The Housing Specialist will work collectively and individually with Property Managers, Regional Property Supervisors, VPs, EVPs, and other departments, as necessary, to ensure that each property adheres to Fair Housing regulations.
This position will ensure Fair Housing Policy compliance for the company overall. Responsible for training staff on the Fair Housing Policies requirements. This includes but is not limited to Affirmative Fair Housing Marketing Plans, Reasonable Accommodation (504) compliance and approval, and Resident Selection Criteria.
This is a remote position with less than 10% travel required.
Responsibilities:
Collecting, analyzing, and presenting data to understand the housing characteristics and trends of a community or region.Synthesize demographic, economic, and housing data along with qualitative research to ensure our AFHMP is in compliance with current regulations.
Complete/submit and follow up, to HUD Affirmative Fair Housing Marketing Plans for CCI properties.
Verify marketing is being completed as often as specified, and to the locations outlined on the AFHMP.
Provide housing expertise and advisory guidance for a variety of related projects.
Reviewing national articles and research on housing to stay current on housing issues and innovative solutions.
Complete annual, and 5-year reviews of the AFHMP. Submit updated plans to HUD if needed by assessing current marketing efforts and verify that targeted demographics are being adequately represented.
Complete monthly, semiannual, annual reviews of the AFHMP and checklist.
Attend yearly trainings for AFHMP and Fair Housing to stay up to date with information.
Create and facilitate Fair Housing Trainings
Accurate and timely processing of all required administrative forms, reports and other related information.
Responsible for reporting unusual conditions or problems to supervisor
Must provide timely, practical insight and support in the development of CCI policies related to the AFHMP and Fair Housing rights and obligations.
Must be able to present clear, organized and detailed information regarding any aspect of the AFHMP and Fair Housing regulations to large groups and individuals, both in person and over the phone.
Must be comfortable using various Webinar programs.
Must be able to create professional PowerPoint presentations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have experience in analyzing housing data, communicating housing issues, and developing strategies and recommendations to address local and regional housing challenges.This position is geared towards individuals who are able to work independently, are self-motivated, and have demonstrable experience in housing.
Fair Housing Specialist (FHS) Certification preferred
Minimum of 3 years work experience in Fair Housing, AFHMP preferred
