Position Overview:
International House (I-House) has an exciting opportunity for a Level 2 Housekeeping Attendant. Supporting the Values of Empathy, Respect and Moral Courage for all members of International House is the goal of our housekeeping team which works within the Facilities & Site Operations Department. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Housekeeping Services, this position performs a wide variety of housekeeping duties and guest-related services. This position is responsible for monitoring and ensuring the cleanliness of public and private spaces to maintain a pleasant and comfortable environment for residents and staff. Examples of Duties:
- Clean and maintain all offices, common areas, restrooms, and the Resident’s Kitchen
- Dust and clean furniture, vacuum carpets, spot clean carpets and furniture, sweep and mop floors, wipe walls, doors, hardware, and other surfaces clean, wash windows and sills, dust counters, baseboards, telephone equipment, copier machines and printers
- Check all lights, outlets, switches, and other electrical appliances to ensure they are in working condition
- Inspect window treatments to ensure they are clean and in proper condition
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, fixtures, sinks, toilets, tubs, showers, including the shower curtains
- Re-stock supplies as needed
- Ensure linen is fresh, clean, free of any stains
- Cleans and organizes Housekeeping’s operational area
- Use and maintain various housekeeping equipment and ensure it remains in working order
- Performs minor maintenance repairs that carry minimal or no life safety and facility risks.
- Performs room event set ups and break downs for external events, moving items such as but not limited to tables, chairs, podiums, room equipment, etc.
- Follow established procedures in performing all tasks
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested
Qualifications:
- Detail oriented with an ability to complete required tasks work in accordance with established timeframes
- Capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time. Able to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance.
- Provide excellent customer service with the ability to work effectively with others
- Available for evening, weekend and holiday shifts in accordance with operational needs
- Demonstrate good communication and organizational skills
- Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance; appropriate uniforms will be provided
- Capable of acquiring and applying knowledge of commercial cleaning practices and techniques, along with the use of related equipment, such as floor buffers, sweepers and snow removal equipment
- Use work related technology applications
- Possess the ability to read and follow written and oral instructions in English

$21.00 per hour
