LOCATION: Fort Logan Northgate
WORK YEAR: 190 days
SCHEDULE: 7.5 hours/day, 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday
WORK STATUS: Classified, Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Principal
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for maintaining all student attendance records and providing secretarial support to various administrators. Responsible for basic first aid, and medication of students as directed. Assists parents and students by explaining various reports, incidents, and/or student information. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains accurate, up-to-date student health and attendance records using district prescribed process and standards. Maintains all student attendance data including truancy reports.
- Provides direct student health services for students and performs delegated nursing tasks under the supervision of district nurse.
- Provides for completion, follow up and documentation of yearly health screenings for specified student population. Completes Input data for immunization health records and notify parents of needed vaccinations.
- Collaborates with student/families, school staff, district nurse, and school based health center to maximize student health services.
- Produces student attendance verifications for teachers.
- Provides necessary information assistance and support for all visitors, parents, families, staff, and students upon entering the building.
- Helps manage administrative calendars, appointments, and meetings.
- Receives phone calls, takes and routes messages, greets and assists visitors.
- Provides responsive high quality service to all students and community members.
- Functions as a working member of the school's safety team.
- Assists in the planning of safety drills; likewise, documents dates, notes, and other pertinent information following all planned and unplanned safety events.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
High School diploma or G.E.D.
Preferred
- Bilingual Spanish/English desirable.
- Experience working in education and/or experience working with children a plus.
- Notary public preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Microsoft Office
- General office equipment
- Effective communication
- Formal training; CPR, First Aid, medication certified (training available)
- Special needs training to include medical devices

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions required the following physical demands: some lifting up to 50 pounds, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling: and signification fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires sitting, walking, and standing. This job is performed in generally a clean and healthy environment.
CLEARANCE:
Must clear background check through the CBI and the FBI through Fingerprint submission.
SALARY:
Salary based upon Class 4 of the Paraprofessional Salary Schedule
Please note: _ This is an at-will position with the Sheridan School District. The annual salary for this position will be determined by number of hours scheduled to work each day and number of days scheduled to work each year. The computed annual salary will be spread out in equal payments over 12 months. Sheridan School District employees are paid once a month on the last work day of the month that is not a weekend day or holiday._
BENEFITS:
Employees who are scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week are eligible to obtain district health benefits which include medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance and supplemental benefits. Positions that qualify for health benefits also qualify for leave which could include vacation and daily leave to be determined by the position and number of days assigned. Sheridan School District No. 2 is a public employer and participates in the Colorado Public Employees’ Retirement Association (PERA). All employees are required by state statute to contribute 11% of salary on a pre-tax basis to PERA and the District contributes 21% in addition to employee contribution.
