Eastern Oregon University (EOU) seeks applications for the position of Head Women’s Wrestling Coach. The Head Women’s Wrestling Coach is a full-time, 12-month, position and reports directly to the Athletic Director.
The Women’s Head Wrestling Coach leads and is responsible for all aspects of EOU’s competitive intercollegiate Women’s Wrestling program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to recruitment, retention, and graduating of student-athletes; academic supervision, fundraising for both the Women’s Wrestling program and the athletic department, budget management, supervising assistant coaches, developing and managing a competitive schedule, and organizing and conducting all training sessions. Must adhere to all rules and regulations of NAIA, and Eastern Oregon University. Expected to implement the NAIA Champions of Character Program within the Women’s Wrestling Program.

(1) Support the physical, emotional, social, and mental development of student-athletes through a robust system of care and support that produces quality student-athlete experiences.
(2) Reflect high standards of academic excellence.
(3) A competent pursuit of athletic excellence shown by competing for Cascade Conference titles and participating in NAIA postseason play by advancing to the national championships.
(4) Embrace the responsibility for equitable treatment and promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
(5) Encourage department innovation for enhanced success, and cultivate a mindset for growth, professional development, work-life integration, and department financial vitality.
(6) Promote community engagement and student-athlete character development through respect, responsibility, integrity, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
(7) Strictly adhere to the highest level of fiscal control and full compliance with all governing associations with transparency and integrity.
(8) Engage EOU alumni through collaborative efforts that generate “Lifelong Mountie” loyalty and support.

- All phases of a competitive Intercollegiate Women’s Wrestling Program
- Recruitment and retention of 20 plus student-athletes
- Graduation of student-athletes
- Academic success & supervision
- Annual fundraising
- Developing and managing a competitive competition schedule
- Budget management
- Supervise and evaluate assistant coaches
- Organizing and conducting all competitions and training sessions
- Community & Alumni engagement
- Adhere to all rules and regulations of the NAIA, Cascade Conference, and Eastern Oregon University
- Implement the NAIA Champions of Character Program within the Women’s Wrestling Program.
- Assist Equipment Coordinator & Sports Information Staff with game day operations
- Bachelor’s Degree in coaching, athletic administration, business, education, communications or closely related field.
- Three (3) to Five (5) years of high-quality, positive motivation, champion-level experience involving a variety of student athletes with differing backgrounds, opportunities, skill levels, and emotional maturity at college, club or high school wrestling coaching level.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of demonstrated previous success in building a successful program at the collegiate or varsity high school level.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong organizational skills.
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- Mental Health First Aid Training
- Current and Valid Driver’s License
- NAIA Champions of Character Coaching Course Completed.
- Must satisfactorily complete EOU criminal and credential background check. Having a criminal history is not an automatic bar to employment.
- In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. Eastern Oregon University will not sponsor applicants for employment visas.
- Masters degree in in coaching, athletic administration, business, education, communications or closely related field.
