• Oversee the design and implementation of all projects;
• Meet with the homeowners to discuss important details: goals, budget, scope, schedule, etc.;
• Oversee schedules and coordinate task completion with Project Management
• Back-up for on-site observations and provide recommendations to help streamline and coordinate ongoing design projects;
• Review and participate in customer presentations;
• Coordinate your resources to generate curated libraries and develop designs and design packages;
• Develop systems to track and present recommended materials and finishes;
• Track metrics for schedule and budget slippage;
• Direct staff in the development of project drawings and permit packages;
• Work closely with the Acton ADU Process Team to optimize your department’s workflows.

• Source and hire design team members (whether as subcontractor or employee);
• Support project management, production, and incorporate production feedback to continually improve designs for ease of installation and construction;
• Ensure ongoing growth and development for all team members.
  

• Ensure the department stays on top of state code changes for ADUs and in cities/counties in our service area;
• Create and curate a library of plans and interior design packages, as well as any other product strategies that improve efficiency and provide homeowners with beautiful solutions.
• Continuously drive down the cost to build with innovative design improvements
• Define and maintain quality standards in conjunction with other Acton leadership team members.

Stan Acton has been a builder since he was 10 years old. It began the day he broke his father’s wooden mallet. The mallet had been crafted by Stan’s father when he was a kid, on his own father’s Shopsmith lathe. Stan was devastated and rushed to grab a piece of firewood.
