What you do:
As a Head Cook you are efficient and strive to provide the best possible care to our residents and families. Our Cooks are responsible for preparing, working with, and delivering food according to the nutritional needs of the resident. This position provides food and customer service to patients, residents, and personnel while maintaining high standards of quality, sanitation, and safety. As Head Cook you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and coordinating department policies and procedures, food service manuals, job descriptions, etc.
- Interpret department policies and procedures to personnel, residents, visitors, family members, etc., as necessary.
- Assist in planning regular and special diet menus as prescribed by the attending physician. Assure that food is available for preparation by cooks.
- Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submit to the Director of Food Services as required.
- Coordinate food services with other departments as necessary.
- Work with the facility’s dietitian as necessary and implement recommended changes as required.
- Review menus prior to preparation.
- Able to prepare and ensure service of nutritional meals at the proper times and temperatures, preserving flavor and appearance.
- Ensure that the department is maintained in a clean and safe manner by assuring that necessary equipment and supplies are maintained.
- Work with a high quality, collaborative team and more.
What you need:
- One (1) year dietary/food service experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred but not required.
- A can do/will do attitude to help others
