GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Reporting directly to the Facilities Manager this position is responsible for the maintenance of program and/or office facilities. Must be physically capable of accomplishing maintenance, repair and construction projects, including lifting objects weighing up to 100 pounds, carrying objects weighing 75 pounds, pushing and pulling objects weighing up to 150 pounds. Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive a small truck or van. Must have a basic understanding of basic home repair and maintenance plumbing, electrical, heating and air conditioning systems and be able to identify problems and take appropriate action to remedy them.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the maintenance, safety and appearance of the physical facilities including interior and exterior of the building as well as furniture and appliances. Conducts routine maintenance of all buildings and related systems. Implements plant maintenance projects, ensuring timely and safe completion of same. Completes preventative maintenance. Completes work requests with high quality workmanship and attention to detail. Is willing to learn new skills as needed to complete work requests. Completes all required paperwork on time. Responds to calls in a timely fashion (within 30 minutes). Proactive in making necessary repairs and completing routine maintenance. Completes additional responsibilities as assigned by the Facilities Manager or other senior managers
  • Participates in remodeling, rebuilding and renovation projects as needed. Works at the direction of the Facilities Manager in executing these projects. Orders and purchases materials as needed. Maintains records of labor and material costs.
  • Participates in exterior ground maintenance. Is responsible for repair of pavement, sidewalks, fences, etc. which are not the exclusive responsibility of the landlord as assigned.
  • Maintenance of fire extinguishers. Ensure that extinguishers are inspected at appropriate times and that all are in their appropriate locations. Is responsible for identifying and eliminating potential fire hazards.
  • Safety Inspections. Participates in safety inspections and initiates repairs as necessary.
  • Equipment and tools. Position requires ownership and use of personal equipment/tools. Formal requests for equipment/tools not owned can be submitted and will be considered if needed to complete essential functions of position. Maintains an inventory of any new equipment or tools purchased by Journey Found. Personal equipment/tools damaged in the course of normal maintenance may be replaced, if approved by the Chief Executive Officer.
  • Maintains confidentiality. Maintains the confidentiality of individuals served.
  • Completes training. Completes and maintains training programs/certifications as required by Journey Found, state and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Quality improvement. Participates in continuous improvement activities to increase productivity, reduce inefficiencies and enhance the quality of services provided.
  • Additional responsibilities. Participates in additional responsibilities as assigned by the Facilities Manger or other senior managers.

Adheres to the Journey Found Policy & Procedure which protects the privacy and security of consumer health information. Maintains the security of electronic media and returns to his/her supervisor when appropriate.

    ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    The ability to move independently throughout a wide range of environments, some of which may not be wheelchair or otherwise handicapped accessible, is required. Independent transportation to locations that may not be served by public transportation is necessary.
