We are looking for a General Manager with a positive attitude, tireless work ethic, and an insatiable appetite for growth to oversee our new location at The Loop in Methuen. The General Manager position will have continuous training, opportunities for growth, and the ability to manage a dominant brand. The General Manager is the senior site leader responsible for thorough knowledge of all processes and procedures pertaining to facility maintenance and operations, front-desk customer service, lesson quality, staff training and performance. This role ensures every function of the Big Blue facility is operating in a superior, professional, and fun manner. During the pre-opening phase, the General Manager will also work closely with the Big Blue team to support local grassroots community building and coordinate on lead generation/pre-sales efforts. The General Manager will also be responsible for local staff hiring and training to build an enthusiastic, high performing team ahead of our Grand Opening. The ideal candidate will be an excellent team player, have great communication skills, and be driven to succeed within the company.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the facility’s hiring, training, scheduling, and performance assessment, including ensuring the facility is properly staffed at all times.
- Preside over facility budgets and work with senior leadership in setting and meeting goals and implementing ways to increase revenue.
- Problem solve facility issues and customer concerns in a professional manner.
- Ensure safety of patrons and staff in the facility at all times.
- Create a positive and fun learning environment for all students.
- Maintain proper pool chemicals and pump room maintenance.
- Ensure necessary repairs are completed in a timely manner; report all repair needs immediately.
- Support grassroots local marketing and community building efforts during pre-opening phase
Requirements:
- Significant previous management experience including leading large teams
- Ability to provide high level service and create a strong sense of community for customer base
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong critical thinking skills and proactive approach to problem solving
- Ability to regularly move throughout the facility to continuously interact with customers and staff
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and be on your feet for long periods of time
- High School Diploma/GED required, bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- Must pass a background check
- Must be available/willing to:
- Complete Lifeguard, CPR, CPO certifications (paid for by Big Blue)
- Able to work in the pool as needed (at least one shift per week)
- Work at least one weekend day per week
- Travel to Virginia for onsite training from 1/30/23 to 2/17/23
