Position Description:
CraftKeeping’s Full Charge Bookkeeper and Administrative Assistant is the go-to person for an array of clients who rely on us for all or most of their accounting needs. They are also essential to the coordination of activities that help us keep moving forward! Our Full Charge Bookkeeper and Administrative Assistant is responsible for:
- Weekly recording of transactions and review of client entries
- Handling integrations with an array of softwares (POS systems, payroll, inventory management, and more)
- Helping clients with A/R and A/P processes
- Directly communicating with clients as needed to answer questions and maintain intimate knowledge of their business
- Monthly closing – reconciliations, closing journal entries, and review & preparation of financial statements and/or reports
- Assist the partners with client communication for all financial services (including tax preparation), create priority lists, and complete other administrative tasks (with the knowledge that administrative tasks represent roughly 20% of all time spent and peak during tax season).
This position reports directly to the partners and because we are a small team, you will have the rare opportunity to truly impact the direction of the company as a whole. While we have established systems in place that work well, there’s always room for improvement. Your suggestions for client processes, service offerings, and operations are not just welcome, they are encouraged.
What We are Looking For:
As a fast growing business with ever-expanding services, we have learned that awareness and adaptation are key for our continued success. While we are looking for someone who can instantly add value to our bookkeeping services, we also welcome someone with the knowledge and experience to also help with our other financial offerings.
This is a fully remote position, with the exception of very occasional in-person meetings with the partners (expenses paid).
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years bookkeeping experience
- Experience using cloud-based accounting softwares (Xero and QuickBooks Online are most helpful)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability and desire to move all work responsibilities forward without close supervision
- Can work for any US employer without visa sponsorship for no less than two years
Preferred Qualifications (on which the upper end of the salary range depends):
- Accounting degree
- Knowledge of the tax preparation cycle and/or experience entering data into tax reporting software
- Experience using 3rd party softwares that integrate with Xero and/or QuickBooks online (payroll, inventory, point-of-sale, etc.)
Salary and Benefits:
- $50,000-80,000, based on qualifications
- Work remotely
- Flexible hours – you’re not required to work a rigid 9-5 schedule
- Flexible paid time off
- Half days on Fridays subject to workload (unrealistic during tax season)
