A Hybrid working model

Hogarth is looking for a Freelance Proofreader

This Proofreader will work with our print team on a variety of creative content client deliverables. This role will start ASAP through the beginning of the new year full-time hours (11-7 EST). This Proofreader will be working with a high volume of marketing materials and brand communications, including ads, brochures, labels, press releases, spreadsheets, packaging, coupons, web pages, catalogs, letters, and other documents. Works cross functionally with different teams to ensure accuracy and integrity across all deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring brand quality and consistency across print and digital mechanicals distributed to global partners
  • Proofreading materials in a timely manner
  • Dedication to brand excellence and to maintaining the highest level of quality and confidentiality
  • Fixes errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation, format, and composition
  • Proofreads various types of creative content
  • Staying on top of changing guidelines and company policies, ensuring style guides are updated

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in editing, copyediting, and/or proofreading marketing and advertising materials at an ad agency, design firm, corporate marketing communications department, preferably for a creative or consumer brand
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to work diplomatically in a dynamic, confidential environment
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop and iWork are a plus
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to focus, prioritize, and pivot as necessary
  • Dependable grammar and spelling skills for the English language
  • Strong communication and ability to work with internal teams
  • Must be fully skilled in using various workflow tools for annotating pdfs
  • Experience working for global brands
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle concurrent projects, track milestones, manage active deadlines, advance deliverables, and find solutions to daily challenges
  • Able to navigate complex processes and tools, including a specialized ticketing system to edit and route deliverables

In New York City, the hourly rate range for this position at the time of this posting may range from $24 an hour to $43.26 an hour. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility, and qualifications.
