FREE Training Certification - Fiber Optics/ Premise Cabling, No Experience Job at Charlotte Area Fund
This 6-week program will successfully prepare participants to earn Certified Premise Cabling Technicians (CPCT) credential and the Fiber Optic Technician (FOT) accredited by the (FOA). Course participants will learn how to identify fiber types, recognize various connectors used in fiber installation; install, terminate, splice and properly test installed fiber cable to existing standards. Average annual income, entry level is estimated at $42,000. Familiarity with operating systems and a variety of consumer communications such as smartphones, routers, modems converters, and wireless devices is a plus!
How to qualify for our programs
Charlotte Area Fund receives State and Federal funds, applicants must meet certain income guidelines to receive services. Individuals seeking assistance or services from Charlotte Area Fund must have an annual family income which does not exceed 125% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.

Make sure you attach the following document with your completed application:
- Identity Verification: Valid picture ID for each adult household member
- Proof of Mecklenburg County Residency: If address is incorrect on ID provide Utility bill, electric bill, etc.
- Proof of income verification for the last 30 days: For all household members related by marriage, birth or adoption, listed on the application at least 18 years of age or older: copies of consecutive pay stubs for the past 30 days
- Copy of Social Security Card for all member in the household related by blood marraige or adoption.
- Proof of High School Diploma or equivalency

Pay: $22.00 - $41.00 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
Classes are provided in Hybrid setting. Virtual classes will be offered through Zoom and when In-person classes occur the proper social distance, hand washing and sanitizing will occur according to the guidelines offered by the CDC.
