Fluid Power Technician Job Description

Job Requirements:

· Must have previous experience with machine tool fluid power systems (Hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, coolant)

· Experience with fabrication, welding, tube bending, pipe fitting and assembly of hydraulic power units

· Ability to read & understand fluid power schematics (hydraulic, lube, and pneumatic)

· Knowledge of hydraulic components such as pumps, cylinders, and pressure control components, and the ability to rebuild and troubleshoot these components and their systems.

· Operation of tool room machinery including mills, lathes and drill presses is a plus

· Must be willing to travel both domestically and internationally for program support and field service – 15% travel

· Experience operating an overhead crane and forklift is a plus.

· Applicants must be willing and able to provide exceptional customer service, do whatever it takes to get the job done, have a positive attitude and be a team player.

· Must have industry relevant tools and reliable transportation.

Job Duties:

· Disassembly of used machines, hydraulic power units and components

· Plumbing (hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, coolant) of machines, tooling, and automation to fluid power drawings

· Assembly of machines

· Evaluate and rebuild pumps, valves, and other fluid power related components

· Assembly and plumbing of hydraulic units

· Troubleshooting of fluid power systems and their related components

· Fabrication of coolant headers and bracketry for hydraulic components

· Drill and tap holes as required for mounting of fluid power components

· Work with engineering, mechanical and electrical departments to develop machine, tooling, and automation designs

· Work with mechanical department to ensure that machines, and their related systems, operate as intended

· Act as field service technician to service/repair machines at customer location

· Maintain BMS equipment, and production machinery

· Assist other manufacturing departments as necessary based on workload including occasionally cleaning and power washing of used machines and components

Education / Licenses / Work Experience Requirements:

· High school diploma or equivalent, associate technical degree preferred

· At least two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.

Schedule:

· 8-hour shift, 6:30AM- 2:30PM, Monday-Friday with occasional overtime as required to meet scheduled delivery dates

· Occasional Saturdays as required to meet scheduled delivery dates
