Hours of Operation: 7 AM - 7 PM

POSITION SUMMARY:

The fitness attendant is responsible for assisting residents/guests in the fitness center.

This position is also responsible for maintaining the thorough cleanliness of all cardio equipment and strength
pieces.

Nature & Scope:

  • The fitness attendant reports directly to the Spa Director. This position is to create and maintain a

professional atmosphere for our residents/guest.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Monitors Fitness Center according to the daily checklists. Attend to laundry: remove dirty towels and delivery to laundry room, fold and restock areas accordingly.
  • Keep all cardio and strength pieces sanitized after every use.
  • Assist with the setup and tear down of fitness classes.
  • Continually follows the Fitness Center Core Values: Keep it safe, clean, friendly, work as a team.
  • Assists residents and guests with class booking.
  • Assists residents with inquiries regarding all functions at TOC.
  • Promotes activities, programs, and events at the TOC.
  • Ensures we have always corrected par levels of all operating supplies and marketing materials.
  • Answers the phone with a friendly and uniform greeting as per the SOP.
  • Knows, monitors, and enforces the rules and regulations of the Fitness Center.
  • Enforces sign in and guest procedures at the Fitness Center.
  • Greets residents by name (Mr., Mrs., Dr.) with a consistent and sincere greeting, and knows their needs all
  • while continuing to strive for perfection.
  • Uses resident’s names as much as possible throughout their visit. Keeps work area clean and always organized.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and is always in proper uniform. This includes proper grooming, shirts pressed and tucked in, and name tag worn.
  • Develop and maintain good communication with management
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
  • All other tasks assigned by the Spa Director or General Manager.

Experience:

Minimum of 6 months related experience, preferable in a private club fitness/spa setting Fitness or personal training schooling or certifications a plus

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a customer service setting preferably in a hotel, spa and or resort.
  • CPR & AED Certification a plus

Knowledge, skills & abilities:

  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Must be professional in manner and appearance and have excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to lift 45 pounds and assist
  • Hospitality-greeting people and speaking with people
  • Promoting/Marketing to support events and activities
  • Positive attitude about people, position, co-workers, and employer
  • Good judgment
  • Ability to stand a minimum of eight hours or duration of shift
  • Ability to walk to various outlets
  • Must be able to speak and write English
  • Good computer skills to include spreadsheets, word processing and e-mail
  • Juggle and balance need of the organization
