Financial Management Senior Analyst- Audit Response

Position Summary:

The Financial Management Senior Analyst- Audit Response position provides functional technical advice and assistance to the Defense Health Agency Financial Reporting & Compliance personnel. Specifically:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Manage incoming Prepared by Client (PBC) requests, assign PBC owners, and manage PBC status daily to include updating the master PBC tracker and database, and providing metrics.
• Perform quality control on submitted PBC items confirm completeness and accuracy of submissions, as well as that the intent of the audit request is reflected in the documentation submitted.
• Coordinate meetings and/or site visits between process owners and auditors.
• Manage communications with internal and external entities to include PBC requests to Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS).
• Examine documentation and transactions for audit samples; review and validate data to identify inconsistencies or differences and propose corrective action.
• Provide administrative support to the DHA Audit Committee.
• Develop staff in preparing packages and supporting materials through communication and demonstration of best practices.
• Prepare and deliver briefings to senior leadership.

Education & Experience Requirements:

EDUCATION:

• B.S. or equivalent in Financial Management, Financial Analysis, Managerial Finance, Accounting, Business or other related / allied discipline, or other relevant experience.

EXPERIENCE:

• Active Secret DoD Security Clearance Required.
• Significant experience in audit (internal and financial statements), financial management, and financial statements preparation support at a large federal agency.
• Significant experience and comfort facilitating meetings, working sessions, and group presentations to senior leadership.
• Familiarity with U.S. government financial accounting systems and audit response tools.
• Experience in the preparation, review, and/or analysis of financial statements for U.S. Federal government entities; working knowledge of the USSGL preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• The following Certifications would be a plus for this role; CDFM, CGFM
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
