This position is responsible for the collection, analysis and financial modeling of business, economic and financial data to support our organizational decision making. About this job:

  • Collect, consolidate and analyze economic and financial data related to business development opportunities - taking into account NorthWestern Energy's risk appetite.
  • Develop financial models using collected and validated data to evaluate opportunities.
  • Provide creative alternatives and recommendations to improve financial analysis and modeling.
  • Assemble and summarize data to communicate, often complex analysis in a simple and concise report for management.
  • Identify trends and recommend actions that may impact modeled financial results (i.e. sensitivity analysis).
  • Track, evaluate and report financial outcomes by analyzing actual results as compared to projections.
  • Consult with management to guide and influence long term decision making
  • Assist in the development and ongoing reporting packages for our board of directors, the financial community and other stakeholders.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required (one to five years of experience preferred)
  • Strong understanding of financial statements (prior experience in financial modeling preferred)
  • Skilled in analyzing and interpreting financial/operating results and developing alternatives
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with SAP system a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple demands while maintaining extremely strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
