Financial Aid Systems Operations Manager Job at Albright College
Albright College is seeking applications for Financial Aid Systems Operations Manager. The Systems Operations Manager (SOM) provides leadership and technical guidance in managing the system functions of the Financial Aid Office. The SOM serves as the technical lead for the maintenance of financial aid through the student information system Powerfaids, Campus Logic Student Forms, and the Department of Education financial aid systems. The SOM will work collaboratively with Admission, Registrar, Student Accounts, and IT for the integration of college data.
The SOM will be responsible for database management and reporting on key financial aid metrics and data to both internal and pertinent external student service areas.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assess, improve, and maintain the operational and technical aspects of the Financial Aid Office processes, focusing on best practices in technology utilization.
- Process/assist with all data uploads/downloads and imports/exports relating to the financial aid module within the Student Information System (SIS) Powerfaids.
- Provide support for all technical procedures and infrastructures relating to financial aid including but not limited to CPS, COD, and EdConnect system integration with campus admission management systems and registration data systems. Train and supervise staff members on technical function whenever appropriate.
- Coordinate with Admission to ensure data integrity between the admission CRM Slate and Powerfaids, especially as it pertains to the applicant data integration process.
- Problem solve technical issues and coordinate processes and respective communication with other college offices, including, but not limited to, Admission, Registrar, Student Accounts, and Residence Life.
- Assist the Director of Institutional Research with the completion of internal and external enrollment and financial aid surveys.
- Coordinate and maintain the office Policy and Procedure Manual to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Oversee the regular upgrades to the SIS and college Identity self service system in collaboration with IT.
- Assist with the development of student communications both paper and electronic through Powerfaids and Campus Logic systems.
- Participate in data standardization and data governance efforts on campus.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Financial Aid.
Qualifications/Prerequisites:
COMMUNICATION
- Must possess strong organizational and communication skills.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in person.
- Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
- Ability to execute instructions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensures exceptional follow-up and follow-through on necessary tasks.
SKILLS
- Working knowledge of financial aid management systems – Powerfaids preferred
- Working knowledge of admission CRM systems – Slate preferred
- Working knowledge of IT system/aid system integration challenges and solutions
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Willingness to learn complex financial aid, registrar and student account processes.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Employment Experience 2+ years of progressively responsible experience in higher education, with preference in financial aid related field.
- Experience in data analysis and reporting, including mastery in excel.
- Knowledge of financial aid regulations, policies and procedures.

EDUCATION
- A bachelor’s degree is required, with preference in Information Systems/Technology or Computer Science
