QUALIFICATIONS


Education & Experience


  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related human service field
  • Experience working with children and families required

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


Position Specific


  • Possess an understanding of the unique psychological and behavioral needs of children/youth and their families to promote healthy relationships and well-being and provide services in support of the permanency or placement stabilization process
  • Develop trusting relationships with the clients, birth parents, and/or caregivers; be accepting and non-judgmental
  • Positive role model to the family; interact with the children and parents in a patient and kind manner
  • Assist parents, utilizing Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) and/or other strength-based practices, with simple and practical strategies to help them confidently manage their children’s behavior, prevent problems developing, and build strong, healthy relationships
  • Support parents in developing problem-solving skills, coping skills, and improved communication skills in order to resolve day-to-day crises
  • Assist families in identifying and sorting priorities, and to promote the utilization of community resources
  • Participate in developing attainable goals, and in implementing the actions steps
  • Provide support, case management, and crisis intervention services as required by the Agency, the County Children’s Behavioral Health, and appropriate to the clients’ needs
  • Create and maintain accurate documentation of client records in compliance with Medi-Cal (EPSDT) and all other relevant regulatory agencies. Progress notes and case records need to be maintained and kept updated after each interaction. Documentation adherence must meet Medi-Cal (EPSDT), other regulatory agencies, and SFF requirements
  • Possess specific cultural competence to work with diverse populations and communities; and demonstrate the ability to provide outreach to those communities
  • Work professionally within collaborations with county, state, schools, and private agencies, participating in interdisciplinary treatment planning
  • Communicate effectively (verbally and written) with staff, clients, colleagues, community partners, and all levels of management
  • Organize, perform, and maintain outcome measures, chart audits, and case files for compliance with all relevant regulatory agencies
  • Provide pertinent information to all authorized representatives of the child
  • Travel required to support children and families
  • Some assistance with transportation may be necessary for the clients
  • Work extended hours (including occasional weekend) when necessary to support children and families or when imposed deadlines need to be met
  • Meet revenue and productivity standards

  • Performs all duties in a manner consistent with the principles and values of agency, while adhering to applicable professional codes of ethics, the agency’s policies and procedures, contractor requirements, and regulatory requirements.

  • Work collaboratively with all agency programs and staff to provide support as needed
  • Utilize and maintain calendar with all work-related details in order to manage time effectively and share calendar information with coworkers
  • Participate in on-going training to expand and develop professional skills
  • Perform other duties as necessary for the agency, as assigned

Employment At-Will
Employment at the Agency is terminable at-will, which means that employment may be
terminated at any time, without cause or reason, by either the employee or the Agency. In
addition the Agency may also demote, layoff, transfer or reassign employees at any time at its
sole discretion without cause or reason.

Starting Salary Range: $22.00 - $25.30 DOE
