Family Services Supervisor-160734 Job at Adams County Colorado
To provide supervision and coordination of the Family Services Specialists areas of Adams County Head Start; to provide training and technical assistance to the Family Services Specialists; to provide technical assistance to the Family Services Manager. Assist in Coordinating recruitment and enrollment of children and families into Head Start Program.
- Completes file audits for all families bi-annually; completes necessary reports and follows up with staff and manager.
- Tracks, monitors, and analyzes family partnership agreements and provides support by identifying community resources.
- Assigns duties, performs supervision, and evaluates performance of Family Service Specialists.
- Assists Family Services Manager in the training, leadership, and guidance of Family Services staff.
- Ensures that kindergarten transition occurs for children transitioning from Head Start to kindergarten in a developmentally appropriate manner.
- Recruits and supervises community volunteers.
- Responds to and supports the resolution of parent and staff issues and concerns relative to the delivery of Head Start services for families.
- Recommends to staff resources available for technical assistance and continued learning.
- Assists in developing and implementing work plans and policies and procedures.
- Assists in conducting workshops and training for staff and parents.
- Takes on a leadership role in agency self-assessment and other efforts to improve the quality of program services.
- Participates in the program's Departmental Leadership team.
- Participates in Colorado Preschool Program Councils and/or other agency and community committees.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with school districts and community partners.
- Participates in annual program planning.
- Tracks, monitors, and ensures compliance with staff scheduling and time entry.
- Communicates pertinent information to appropriate ACHS staff concerning the child or family, in order to coordinate comprehensive case management.
- Compiles, tracks, monitors, and analyzes reports and performs data analysis to ensure area compliance.
- Ensures health related tracking, follow-up, and health requirements are met.
- Maintains professional boundaries and confidentiality.
- Ensures Head Start requirements are met.
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required.

- Principles and practices of case management.
- Community resources, case management, resource coordination, and referral practices.
- Principles and procedures of record keeping and report writing.
- Interpret and explain Head Start Program policies and procedures.
- Learn and apply the policies and procedures of the Head Start program and the Head start Performance Standards.
- Computer Skills: Demonstrated proficiency with personal computers and word processing programs.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Establish, maintain, and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Experience:
- Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in case management or related field.
- Minimum of 1 year supervisory or lead role experience.
- Additional experience can be equivalent to education on a year for year basis.
- Education and Training: Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Public Administration, or a related field.
- License or Certificate: None
- Background Check: Must pass multiple criminal background checks. A fingerprint check may be conducted.
- Other: Must complete physical examination and TB test upon hire.
