With multiple locations, Maguire is looking to fill an immediate opening for a Facilities Maintenance Engineer / Technician in Grand Island.

The individual must have high energy, be motivated, organized with a professional attitude, strong communication skills, self-starter, good work ethic, trustworthy, dependable and capable of following a given protocol.

Some of the duties and responsibilities include, assisting with maintenance staff, projects and serves as company representative with contractors and staff. Repairs and upkeep to various automotive repair shop equipment, furnishings, building systems and envelopes. Basic maintenance of a broad range of HVAC equipment, repairs and maintenance of lifts, compressors, oil delivery systems and other shop equipment. Procure appropriate supplies and/or parts for all internally managed repair work. Conducts and documents regular facilities inspections for safety and quality. Performs duties in a cost-effective manner to avoid waste of resources without jeopardizing quality of care and service. Other duties may be assigned by the Facilities Manager.

A background in the automotive industry is a plus but not a requirement.

Applicant must be competent and have at least 8 years’ combined experience in basic commercial building electrical, plumbing and general construction. Knowledge and experience in HVAC systems, have a comfortable degree of skill in basic building construction applications and processes is preferred. Applicant must also have basic tools for working on machinery, basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing and HVAC tasks. A basic proficiency in painting is necessary and this individual must be comfortable to work independently as well as a contributing part of the team.

Must have valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and comfortable with trailering equipment. Experience with man-lifts and forklifts a plus.

Please note that this position will be primarily for the Grand Island locations but may need to act as support for the Syracuse and Ithaca locations as needed.

Salary contingent upon experience.

Some shifts may be on call as assigned.
