Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements for the daily production requirements; make adjustments and stage materials.

• Operate and tend to diversified fabricating machines.

• Set stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule or template; position workpiece against stops or align layout marks with die or blade; and push button or depress pedal to activate machine.

• Closely observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.

• Measure and check work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.

• Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from work pieces.

The essential functions of this role include:

• working in a smoke free environment
• wearing steel toe shoes
• working in a non-temperature controlled environment
• manual lifting up to 50lbs
• standing for 8 hours at one time
• working up to 8 hrs of overtime per week
