The Executive Director, Integrated Insights Lead – Cross Portfolio partners with the VP, Integrated Insights to address the insights and analytics needs of the Chief Product Officer (CPO) of Pharma or the EVP of Oncology in the Novartis US IM organization. This person creates a holistic view of the health of the business, quickly drives clarity on critical issues, and elevates insights that may impact the full portfolio. This role also strongly influences the priorities and allocation of resources across the business, helping to focus the leader’s attention toward the parts of the portfolio that are most in need. This Executive Director builds strong relationships and maintains constant communication across the DIA’s Integrated Insights, Enterprise Analytics, Capabilities, and Predictive and Customer Engagement Effectiveness (PACE) teams to ensure visibility into the latest customer and consumer insights within the product teams, and identifies emerging patterns that have portfolio-level implications. This role ensures that portfolio strategies reflect the latest market, customer and consumer insights, and supports the development of C-suite and Board level business reviews.
This Executive Director is a proactive leader with a deep understanding of portfolio priorities who leverages our DIA insights framework and reaches across DIA teams to identify patterns and elevate relevant implications. This leader will model the role of “Intellectual Sparring Partner” as a proactive, committed colleague who productively challenges assumptions and elevates the thinking of those around them. They have hands-on capability to use a range of syndicated/proprietary data systems, advanced analytics, and custom, traditional, digital, and emerging research methodologies to address issues. They place a priority on communication – up, down, and across the organization - in order to stay aware of developments and keep stakeholders informed. They are able to synthesize large amounts of information into clear narratives that drive alignment and lead to action.
This role reports to the Vice President, Integrated Insights within the Data, Insights & Analytics team, and interacts with the Chief Product Officer or EVP.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Partner with Vice President, Integrated Insights, Enterprise Analytics, Predictive and Customer Engagement Effectiveness (PACE), and DIA Capabilities team to discover, share and communicate insights and analytic outcomes which have portfolio implications.
- Engage with Chief Product Officer/EVP to align on portfolio needs and priorities related to Data, Insights & Analytics.
- Patient Insights – create understanding of the shared human experience and success across the therapies we offer, with an emphasis on behavioral and environmental drivers that consistently affect all areas of the portfolio.
- Customer Insight – use a 360° understanding of customers/health care providers (HCP) to identify factors and issues that are shared across the portfolio.
- HCP and Patient Journey Mapping – leverage research on the end-to-end experience for HCPs and patient to identify common portfolio drivers across moments of truth.
- Field Performance Drivers – utilize market data to monitor FF productivity; identify root cause of any performance issues and highlight areas of opportunity.
- Develop and deliver periodic (monthly, quarterly) business issue reviews to the CPO and stakeholders.
- Address ad hoc portfolio issues with/for the CPO by connecting with the Integrated Insights Teams, Enterprise Analytics and other partners to create fact-based, aligned summaries and recommendations.
- Work within Ethics, Risk and Compliance policies and procedures and ensure those around him/her do the same.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $233,600 and $292,000 per year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/23 through 12/31/23, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. - Bachelor's degree in related field is required; Master of Science and/or MBA preferred
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience within the Pharma/Life Sciences industry within in an Analytics & Insights organization bringing Therapeutic portfolio insights to life across a wide group of portfolios.
- For the Integrated Insights Lead – Cross portfolio – Oncology position it is a requirement to have Oncology experience.
- Deep experience in consumer insights, including an application of behavioral and psychological research methodologies.
- Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and team orientation
- Proven teamwork, collaboration, and people management skills
- Works effectively across functions as a team player to seamlessly help to achieve common goals without hierarchy, politics, or self-interest
