We are currently looking for an Equity Derivative Strategist in New York, NY.

The Derivatives strategy and trading group at Piper Sandler focuses on trade idea generation and execution across US listed equity derivatives. This includes index, ETF, single stock and VIX/VXX.

The group responsibilities include sales, trading, and strategy. This position will primarily focus on the strategy needs of the team, working directly with the current lead option strategist on idea generation and client requests. The Piper Sandler options strategy effort draws from the firm offerings across Macro and Single stock research, as well as proprietary in-house analytical tools related to volatility markets. The roll and responsibilities may vary depending on the candidate.

Desired skill set

• 3+ Years experience in equity derivatives
• Microsoft Excel expert, VBA/Python a plus
• Understanding of financial markets and concepts
• Familiarity with option concepts and market structure
• Trading experience not required, but a plus
• Ability to manipulate data sets, synthesize information, and independently draw conclusions
• Ideally has series 7, and 63
