Hourly Range: $30.00 - $40.00 an hour

Required for Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator:*
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
- Or an associate degree with 2 years of relevant experience
- Or a high school diploma with 4 years of relevant experience
- Clean background with no outstanding/pending charges
- Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test at time of hire and random
- Valid Driver’s License
- Non-US Citizen must hold current work visa or green card
- Strong computer and database skills, including demonstrated proficiency in standard Microsoft Office applications, Adobe, and MS outlook.

Essential functions for Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator:
Responsible for providing Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) support site operations in California. In this role you will provide general administrative and functional support to complete other EHS duties in support of the business. As well as be responsible for editing, creating, formatting and record storage management of all site procedures.
As the EHS Coordinator, you will provide day-to-day support of EHS activities for the GEH San Jose Training Facility, Nuclear Field Services Teams. Business activities you will support include field services engineering, outage tooling, facility modifications and outage training. You will interact extensively with training activities for outage teams, customers, and regulators.
Additional required job expectations include the following:
- Upload all site procedures in the secured library and site websites continue this process for all revised procedures.
- Assist with purchasing.
- Responsible for non-compliance notifications and will assist with site billing, certifications, and shipping.
- Administer and manage the site’s GenSuite EHS compliance tracking programs and record keeping systems.
- Support site safety committee focused on EHS program development, implementation, and improvement.
- Participate in injury investigations, including OSHA injury and Illness case management with determination of record-ability.
- Interface with medical case management, worker compensation and occupational medical clinic organizations as required.
- Support the safe handling and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes in compliance with state, federal and GE requirements. Drive focus on goal of minimizing waste quantities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of written environmental, health and safety programs, tools, and materials.
- Provide support for our EHS permit processes (Hot Work, Confined Space, Working at Height, etc.)
- Assist with conducting site health and safety and waste management inspections/audits
- Assist in the Coordination of the collection and transportation of hazardous waste generated
- Conduct regular audits and job hazard analysis to identify facility and jobsite hazards and risks to prevent injuries, spills or other health and safety impacts and to ensure compliance
- Conduct well sampling
- Assist with the coordination of environmental, health and safety training for all personnel
- Help drive and participate in pre-job briefs and established safety meetings.

Work environment for Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator:*
- Ability to walk up and down ladders and stairs and work from heights multiple times per day.
- Ability to work extra hours when required, including availability to support emergent issues during off-hours.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time to support EHS program development, audits and nuclear service outages.
