Tulsa-Based North American leader in “regulatory compliance management” seeks talented, experienced Environmental Engineer / Environmental Manager with passion for environmental protection and project management with Vanguard’s extensive clientele in Chicagoland and Midwest cities from our Midwest Regional Hub in Rolling Meadows, IL. Federal/State laws with stiff enforcement policies mandate annual compliance. Vanguard’s EHS Professionals produce evidence-based compliance projects while client projects are sold by professional sales force in place around the U.S. Vanguard’s engineering professionals do not sell; business model does not feature “billable hours,” as ethics is a core value of Vanguard. Orientation/Training provided by Vanguard’s corporate and regional staff. This mid- to Sr.-level position emphasizes the environmental side of EHS first. Health, safety and hazmat training are secondary, but still important.

Employee must already live in Chicagoland area, preferably within 30 minutes of Rolling Meadows office. Vanguard does not provide relocation costs.

JOB FOCUS

- Field projects include Air Permitting, Emissions Inventory Reporting, Toxic Release Inventory (Form R Reporting), Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP)/Training, SPCC Plans/Training, Process/Wastewater Permitting, RCRA HazWaste Reporting, and Onsite OSHA/GHS Employee Training;

- Ensure site-specific compliance with each client’s environmental permitting, reporting, and employee training responsibilities through Vanguard’s systems, methods, and proprietary technologies; technical writing an all-important skill.

- Light travel (20%) to Midwest cities…one- to two-day run-outs to places like Kansas City, St. Louis, Cincinnati,). Most clients are within driving distance from office.

· Collaborate with other Engineers/OSHA Staff for Compliance Excellence.

· Note: Our current operational mode is working remotely from one’s home, hoping to return to our predominant mode of working from our “Class A office suite.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s Degree (Environmental Engineering &/or Management, or related degree). Air Permitting Experience & Certifications are a definite advantage.

· 5 or more years of experience performing Environmental, Health and Safety programs for clients operating in U.S. manufacturing and industry sectors.

· Experience with federal and state EHS regulations, plus UN’s Globally Harmonized System (GHS) for OSHA programs.

· Highly motivated, detail-oriented, with ability to solve technical and analytical problems while interacting with clients in personable, plain-English style.

· Strong oral/written skills with confidence to speak and train in workplace.

· Bilingual language skills &/or international regulatory experience a definite plus.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

· Executive package: Base Salary + Project Stipends + Health/Dental benefits + 401K-style retirement program + paid vacation + paid holidays + other PTO.

· All travel expenses paid by Vanguard; Car allowance provided for local work.
